I had a fantastic experience purchasing my first pair of hiking boots at this Jax location. I entered uninformed of my needs or options and was provided excellent and patient guidance by Colin in the footwear section. After considering my experience level, budget, and goals, he helped me try on more than seven different brands and sizes before locating a pair on clearance which would typically have been above my budget at full price and happened to be in my size. I love the boots (Danner) and have been on multiple hikes in my first week since purchase. I confirmed Colin’s guidance on their quick break-in time and look forward to many more miles to come thanks to his help!

If it wasn't for the great collection of products I probably would never return. Their lost prevention people will follow you so close you will feel rushed and harassed. Almost handed my basket to the man in black just so he could personally count the items in my basket. Not very welcoming if they feel you fit a certain description. The other staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

Mike is a great manager. As is the young woman behind the counter in Archery - Equestrian, Competitive Mountain Bike Rider, and back country guide, color me impressed.

Jim is also a great manager across S. Boulder Rd., and Rick in OPE is very helpful. If you want to stay local I highly recommend you shop here.

Finally, Bill in cycling is a great mechanic...Now, please save a steel Fat Tire Mountain Bike for my next visit!

Great staff + Great deals! Went in to see a buddy that was working there. got some great deals on a nice benchmade knife and bunch of other stuff for the wife. Now I stop in for clearance every time in town.

A very diverse collection of outdoor gear for sale. Like a mini REI but with a local flavor. Many Colorado produced goods in this store. All high-quality goods. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. The goods are at a premium but they are not cheaply made Chinese goods. One can buy propane here too.

This has got to be the best ? outdoor store in the state. They carry most of the outdoor brands that are of the highest quality. Often, the sale racks have some really great finds at 50% off or more. Sadly, retail pricing has gotten out of hand on so many quality goods, that paying full price limits how often I shop here. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. And they almost always have extra stock sizing at different store locations. Well worth the visit. They carry everything!!
